December:

Growth! We expect that children will become lifelong learners in our program. Adults help build upon experiences from all area of the classroom as children learn at their own pace. Research tells us that the best programs consistently measure each child’s growth. By using anecdotal record keeping, done daily, teachers have the necessary tools to evaluate progress and prepare activities to engage all children.

December:

To show your child how math is used in daily life, try these strategies: Point out whenever a family member uses math around the house. “How napkins did daddy put out for dinner? How do you think he knew that?” Include you child in everyday activities involving math. Counting pennies, sorting fruits from veggies, more to follow.
