WELCOME to our COA family! "Hip, Hip Hooray! It's back to School. Come in from the park, come in from the pool. Gather your pencils, your paper, your glue. There's lots of fun learning we're going to do. I'll be there to greet you with a smile on my face. You'll see that COA is a very nice place." August 12th is the first day of Preschool. All Preschool transitions will begin officially that day. You will receive a letter stating your child's new class and teacher. If you have any questions prior to your child moving up to their next classroom, please see management. What a GREAT year we are going to have. :)

KDI 25: Language, Literacy and Communication- Alphabetic Knowledge: Children identify letter names and their sounds.

Alphabet knowledge is also considered a component of concept of print. This includes knowledge of the names of each letter, the order of the alphabet, recognition of each upper-case and lower-case letter, and knowing the difference between letters and words. Alphabet Knowledge includes recognizing all the letters of the alphabet by name. This includes recognizing upper-case and lower-case letters. To help your child with alphabetic knowledge read, read and read.


January:

Hold your baby and investigate what they see in the mirror. Point out the different parts of their body (toes, head, fingers) and then point them out on yourself. Use words to describe the different parts of you. Talk about what each part does.
