Safety Is Our #1 Priority

Ensuring the safety and security of all the children at Children of America is our top priority, and we have taken strict measures to ensure that our policies and procedures reflects this philosophy. Every COA location institutes high standards of safety and cleanliness while maintaining a caring and nurturing environment where children can thrive.

Enhanced Health & Safety Protocols
Schools continue to follow our existing stringent health and safety protocols, including:
• Requiring any children or staff with respiratory illness symptoms or fever to return home and stay home until fever free for at least 24 hours
• Frequent disinfecting and sanitizing of high-touch toys and surfaces
• Frequent handwashing by children and staff, which is embedded in our curriculum and daily staff protocols
• Training teachers on common signs of illness in children
• Maintaining an up-to-date and customized Safe School Plan posted in all classrooms for easy teacher access
During this time of enhanced concern, all school leadership team members are continuing to stay up-to-date with the latest state and local guidelines, licensing requirements, and CDC guidelines regarding the safety and well-being of your child. With a clear appreciation of the trust you place in them, COA commits to follow stringent health and safety requirements as well as to meet or exceed the guidelines from local and state officials.

Schools have implemented enhanced procedures to limit the spread of COVID-19 and are frequently communicating with families and staff to convey the enhanced measures in place within their school.

• Security starts at the door: Parents have to use a Personal Identification Number (PIN) to gain entry into the building. This enables our staff to monitor who drops off and picks up each child and records each child's entry and exit daily. Children are released ONLY to those individuals who have been listed on enrollment records and who have been confirmed by identification check.

• Our outside play areas use a rubberized surface* or soft synthetic turf instead of wood chips, sand or gravel. All perimeter and playground gates are locked and monitored so children can enjoy outdoor play safely. Staff members are trained in First Aid and CPR.
Parent Notification
We keep parents informed via text messaging, email, Facebook, Twitter. Furthermore, our website Emergency Alert system is updated showing school closings due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
All personnel are trained in emergency procedures. Each school has an emergency evacuation plan. Monthly fire drills are scheduled for evacuations.
We are a peanut and nut-free environment. All child allergies are documented in each child's enrollment form and posted in his or her classroom.
Medications are stored securely & out of the reach and we have strict policies for administering medication to ensure he/she is protected.
Always Close By - Just a Click Away
The ease and simplicity of the remote monitoring offers that added peace of mind to parents. With access available anywhere, anytime family members can simply logon and view their child in our school setting. First time parents especially love this, as separation from their little one can be scary the first time around. ACB is password protected and is accessible on all mobile devices.
